De Bono Institute Australia
Teachers at the College are accredited to deliver de Bono learning techniques and the school maintains a very close relationship with the de Bono Institute in Australia.
At Canterbury Girls' Secondary College we believe that the de Bono thinking techniques will better equip students to face and deal with future challenges and enable them to apply more rigour to their academic work. Through these teaching techniques, students from Year 7 begin to expand their thinking and perception skills in order to help them consider all factors. This approach to thinking is developed as students move though the College and underpins the approach to the development of leadership skills in College student leaders.
These proven techniques not only nurture self confidence and a passion for learning but they also facilitate consideration for others' point of view. The culture of thinking at Canterbury Girls' Secondary College encourages creativity, innovation, problem solving, decision making and critical thinking in order to promote thinking for the 21st Century.
